Hello out there, unfortunatly weh ave to deal with non standard charsets in IPTC metadata embedded in jpeg images provided by our media partners. From specific partners we get data containing a know but non standard charset (like MacRoman). The current implementation knows only of UTF-8 and ISO-8859-1 encoding, so that certain characters will be broken when read from the ImageParser. This patch contains changes which allow at least for jpeg images to set the encoding to use for decoding the bytes.
I hope this is the correct address (found somewhere on the ASF homepage: https://subversion.apache.org/docs/community-guide/general.html#patches) to provide this patch. If not please point me to the right one.
