The only approach I can envision is running arch in VirtualBox and having a saner Linux environment to work with. But I have no idea what performance penalty that will be in regular use.
I use Arch Linux in a Virtualbox on my Windows laptop and there is no noticeable performance penalty, only in very I/O intense operations. You should be aware of an issue in Virtualbox' X driver that affects dwm [1]. [1] http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.misc.suckless/4021 -- Thomas Dahms
