I'm resubmitting my patch for specifying fonts as an array in st in hopes of having it upstreamed. This can theoretically be done with fonts.conf, but I think fonts.conf is a nightmare to deal with and cannot be done on a per-application basis with doing something like making wrappers that set certain FC_* environment variables. Besides, the other graphical suckless projects -- dwm and dmenu -- have supported this for years.
