The breaking window for Superset 5.0 is over and no more breaking changes are accepted on master. We’re back to SemVer (https://semver.org/) constraints.
This was our best major release in terms of PMC participation! Some highlights of this breaking window: - 32 proposals completed - ~53k lines of code removed - 7 legacy charts migrated to ECharts - SQL Lab queries are now shared using permalinks - Superset was upgraded to React 17 and Typescript 5 - Python 3.9 is no longer supported - Many legacy endpoints were removed Please refer to the proposals board (https://github.com/orgs/apache/projects/345) to check the full list of proposals and their completion status. I also created the Superset 6.0 project board (https://github.com/orgs/apache/projects/462) for the next major release of Superset. Thanks to everyone who contributed during the breaking window. If you missed it, don’t worry, 6.0 is not too far. You can check our Release Process (https://github.com/apache/superset/wiki/Release-Process#schedule) for more information. We’ll work on 5.0 RC1 and begin the stabilization phase where we ask for help from the community to keep the focus on fixes and testing. Best regards, Michael S. Molina
