in OOo 1.0 and 1.1 it was possible to access the binary AutoText files.
These versions can convert the files for you.
Copy these files into such an installation into the
share/(language)/autotext or user/autotext directory.
The files are converted to the new format once you add a new AutoText
entry to these files.
