Thank you for your prompt reply. The issue still exists in the Doc4.odt file located in the original posting on the oooforum.org site.
The issue I posted about here was with opening a similar document that was originally created with MS Office 2007 and saved as an MS Word 97/2K/XP/2003 file. When I went to create a test file and sample code to post on the bug tracker, I used MS Office 2000 and the file I created this way does appear to open and save just fine. I noticed that the file MS Office 2007 saved incorrectly contained table of contents links and section breaks inside the page header and I believe this is why Writer could not open it. However, while creating this new test file, I found a number of bug with how Writer handles and exports the Table of Contents. This list is not exhaustive: #1 the output TOC does not preserve the Right Tab stop that is set, thus the TOC goes off the right margin #2 the output file contains two (2) new continuous section breaks that were not there before #3 the input file has a custom TOC1 style I have set includes Border: Top(Single solid line, Custom Color(RGB(75,106,143)), 3/4 pt Line width)Border: Top(Single solid line, Gray-50%, 1/2 pt Line width) The input and output files can be found here: http://nathanegge.com/in5.doc http://nathanegge.com/out5.doc Please let me know if any work arounds for #1 and #3 exist. Would you like me to submit 3 different bugs for these issues? I have a customer who needs the ability to edit existing *.doc files that contain images in the header using UNO. Any help is appreciated. I reported this issue on the forums but no one responded: > > http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=73158 > I will have a look at this issue in the next days. In the meanwhile, I want to ask you to report this issue in the OpenOffice.org issue tracking systems - http://qa.openoffice.org/ooQAReloaded/ooQA-ReportBugs.html.
