Have you also considered adding a multi-clipboard and split screen for
Writer? For example, a list of 10+ items that a user can collect and
selectively paste later. Also, while Calc has split-screen, I haven't
noticed a feature that allows viewing and editing of separate sections
in Writer.
Although it's not exactly split-screen, you have the ability to view and edit
separate sections of a document already. Just open the document, then open a
new window (Window->New Window).
