I have a Maven project that embeds Synapse into a WAR together with the
relevant configuration files. With 1.1.1 I can deploy the WAR as is on a Tomcat
server and it works out of the box. After your change this will no longer be
possible.
I agree that this will only work if the servlet container explodes the WAR file
(which is the default for Tomcat), but this is still better than require the
user/admin to manually change config files.
I think that for 1.3 we should implement a mechanism to allow Synapse to load
files from WAR resources using ideas from SYNAPSE-207.
