SynapseServer.main immediately returns after starting up SynapseServer. If
during startup only daemon threads are created, the VM immediately shuts down.
This situation arises e.g. when only the VFS transport and the JMS sender are
enabled. Indeed, the JMS sender doesn't create any thread and the VFS transport
uses timers configured in daemon mode (see AbstractPollingTransportListener).
