Hi all,
I think it is useful to summarize the plan for next releases.

In the table below, I am reporting our current release lines Vs End of OSS
support / EOL of the main project dependencies.

+-------------+---------+-------------+--------------------+---------+-------------------+
| Release line| Branch  | Spring Boot | End of OSS support | CAS    | EOL
        |
+-------------+---------+-------------+--------------------+---------+-------------------+
| 5.0.x       | master  | 4.2.x       | 2027-12            | 8.1.x   | not
available yet |
| 4.2.x       | 4_2_X   | 4.1.x       | 2027-07            | 8.0.x   | 2027-07
         |
| 4.1.x       | 4_1_X   | 3.5.x       | 2026-06            | 7.3.x   | 2026-12
         |
| 4.0.x       | 4_0_X   | 3.4x        | 2025-12            | 7.2.x   | 2026-03
         |
+-------------+---------+-------------+--------------------+---------+-------------------+

My considerations:

1. upcoming 4.0.9 is likely the last one from 4.0.x
2. upcoming 4.1.4 is one of last releases from 4.1.x
3. we need to cut the first 4.2.x release, even milestone(s) as soon as OpenJPA
4.2.0 is out

WDYT?
Regards.
