thanks for your perspective Sebastian - ideally we come to an agreement
on what still needs to get in by early January, subsequently do our due
diligence for checking performance regressions (perftest) and release
preparation, and then cut the release by end of January.

Matthias

Hi all,
@Matthias, Do you have a time frame in mind?
Before cutting a release, I would like to merge recent contributions to the CLA
back-end. Furthermore, we should double-check our release artefacts for
superfluous elements (both in Java and Python) and dedicate some time to the
Python API for documentation.
I agree completely with switching to JDK 17 after its release because initial
results show improved performance using the new vector API.
Best regards

Hi all,
it's been a while since our last SystemDS release (see below). We made
great progress over the last 9 months including many performance
improvements and bug fixes (many of which were discovered by improved
test coverage). Accordingly, I'd like to initiate the process for
creating our next SystemDS 3.3 release. Immediately after this release,
we could then also switch to JDK 17, which opens the way for utilizing
the new vector API for SIMD instruction parallelism.
Please share if there are important features missing we should include
into SystemDS 3.3. Otherwise we could start the performance regression
tests and process for cutting the RC.
