At least a 0.3-incubation based on the new structure should also run on
Java 7. Given Java EE 7 isn't even fully spread across the industry yet,
and EE 8 not to come out before a year from now, I would not rush things
here.
In case a future config standard found Tamaya an appropriate RI, then,
since that standard contributes to Java EE 8 a switch to Java SE 8 only
would certainly make sense. Until then I think we should at least release
once or twice in a backward-compatible way.
