thanks for your interest - I'm not sure if you followed all of the threads.
We agreed on staying with JDK8 but enabling the availability to build
with JDK9.
This is already done via Travis integration,
Aaron contributed a lot of patches via

Not sure what you mean with Java 9 support ...
