So, what's the contract for the generation of those?

Here's what is allowed:

and it includes hyphens ("-"), underscores ("_"), colons (":"), and
periods (".")

Problem is we also use them as javascript identifiers...

So, do they also have to be 'javascript safe'?
Or change those scripts, perhaps using
<let key="wId" unique="true">... ?
