That's fine with me. I also like the idea of following up with a quicker paced series of minor releases. It's nice to have the latest fixes on the central maven-repo. That'll save people the fiddling with private repos and pinning down snapshots.

As soon as this request is filled and completed I'm planning on finally trying to get the release together and start a vote once I've re-done some of the assembly build rules and peeked around at how Howard is handling the dependency jars in his. Is everyone ok with the idea of releasing now? I think it's been long overdue but have obviously been trying to get OGNL as stable as possible at the same time.
