It's not console output but the surefire file written to target/something. I'll try upgrading to mvn 2.0.7 then

I've not seen that one before no. Just ran it on my machine with all tests passing. (mvn 2.0.7 / ubuntu feisty ) Your console output looks suspicious. Nothing in mine ever says "Test set" .
