I apologize for not addressing this; I do think that the XML/Namespace (and CDATA) support is very important. I hope to find time to look at your patch.
I've been in the process of spurring the other Tapestry developers to pitch in on this stuff as well. Currently, too much is single threaded through me needlessly and there's just so many hours in the day. The good news is that I now have *much* more time to spend working on Tapestry than in prior months (you may have noticed an upswing in the rate of change for T5).
