Andreas commented on TAPESTRY-2067:
-----------------------------------

Just to add...

The reason i found this is: using the element "contrib:AjaxStatus" is a
comfortable way of showing "please wait while your request is being processed"
to the user.

On the other hand i could think of many cases where an Ajax-Request could lead
to a Redirect as errors occured. So this way of use is very realistic in my
eyes.

> Parameter passing to pages doesn't work with AJAX-Requests (async=true)

> When using forms with async=true, parameter passing to a following page
> doesn't work. What happens is this:
> - Show Page A - Form.
> - User enters text in a box hits Enter/Submit
> - AJAX-Request starts, hits listener
> - Form-Listener (A) gets new Page and injects parameter (pageB.setXXX('foo'))
> - beginPageRender-Listener (B) of pageB fired
> - Listener (A) returns the redirect-request to Tapestry
> - ??? (AJAX-answer? don't really know, i haven't checked)
> - Tapestry starts listener B just AGAIN! (seems, that the redirect doesn't
> know anything more of the before-instantiated page and takes a new one)
> - pageB renders (but without the passed parameter as it uses a new pageB and
> not the first intantiated one
> - pageB renders without the passed parameter. :-(
> possible Workaround (not tested yet):
> - pass on the parameter via session
> Any other ideas?
> This issue is at least major in my eyes as using parameter-passing is
> essential! It should urgently being documented in wiki or the tapestry-docs.
> I'll try to add a testcase (this is my first bug here, so i don't know
> whether i am allowed to do so or not...)
