Hi folks,

I want to contribute a patch. What is the usual approach for providing patches, especially in the way "how" to implement it? Should I always wait for final discussion for non-trivial things or is it just about "starting", providing the patch and waiting what the reviewer with commit rights says to it?

Example: I want to contribute to https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TAP5-423, but there is an open question about the implementation approach. Can I expect that all jira-comments are notified to the team-leads and if no objection comes up I should just get started?
