So, i can offer to write an issue there for us + make sure everything
is ok with them

As i can understand from the whole process, the only sideeffect i can
think of is
to those using the people.apache.org snapshot repo - because the
artifacts will be
removed from there (and moved into repository.apache.org)... but I
guess that's not
blocker at all - just informing the users will be enough
