Oh, like sarcasm has never helped. Seriously, at JavaOne a couple of years ago, I was chatting with Bob Lee and he said exactly that: "Well, I guess you aren't are committed to DI as we are." I wish I could remember the context.
I suspect this will largely be some ugly hacks to enable a new @Inject that works pretty much the same as Tapestry's @Inject, but from a different package ... we'll see.
