Nexus has a sophisticated system for access control so this should not be a problem. You could set up a number of different repos for different purposes, e.g.

https://example.com/nexus/content/groups/your-proprietary-repo
https://example.com/nexus/content/groups/your-open-source-repo
https://example.com/nexus/content/groups/third-party-artifacts-not-present-in-maven-central
etc
