018d3c424fb78f74034a4e2fdbf762cf0ee771b8/TAP5-1689 is causing issues for
me. I have a Grid mixin that sets the initial sorting for a Grid. Now I
get a NullPointerException in Grid.java:338 from its SetupRender phase.
There's probably a null check missing.
