Hi Andy We know it has to change. It is just one of the things we need to fix; a (blocking) issue to go in JIRA, no more. At least in those cases, the ownership is very clear so none of this is hard.
The only tricky thing in the taverna server sources is the definition of the Usage Record schema (I think it is in the file ur.xsd), which comes from a specification produced by the Open Grid Forum. The problem is that the *original* publication format is PDF and required quite a bit of cleaning up (which in turn is because of the complex history of that document, which I'll save for another time). The schema is therefore a derived work, but not directly copied from elsewhere. Everything else was originally done (99% by me) as a work-for-hire for the University of Manchester, mostly as part of two projects (Helio and Scape). I am utterly happy for things to change -- I think it is for the better anyway ;-) -- and I know the uni is happy because they did the software grant to Apache. Donal.
