we do have some of those operators, checkout source ops. One old example is twitter source reading from tweets. But would be nice to have a general streaming operator that is always running, to accept events, it can serve the purpose for ingestion. I would recommend don't limit to adding an operator. make your project bigger scope that includes those operators, make a use case out of them, so that they are justified!
