GitHub user zyratlo added a comment to the discussion: [Notebook Migration WIP] Adding R support
Quick update now that the first round of R support is up for review. **PRs** * #8910 refactors the migration tool so prompts and the operator type are chosen by source language. Python behavior is unchanged. * #8911 adds the R prompts, builds `RUDF` operators, and adds an `rNotebookMigrationEnabled` flag, off by default. * #8912 adds R notebooks to the import modal. * #8963 adds R files. They are stacked in that order (#8910, #8911, #8912, #8963). R folders will come in a later PR. #8929 is still tracked and will be fixed after R support is finished being added. **Proposed changes from the original plan** * **Mixed folders.** I said the first version would reject folders containing both R and Python. Another proposal for R folders is instead to read only the `.R` files and list the rest in the folder layout sent to the model, the same way Python folders already treat files like `requirements.txt`. That will be settled in the R folders PR, so feedback is welcome before then. The main reason for this is to always honor the user's chosen tab language, so we choose that as the source of truth and ignore anything else.
