Hi I've created TEZ-2003 for adding support for co-ordinating and executing work to external systems. The jira has some information on use cases, and changes involved, and has been split into high level sub-tasks. I'll try posting some additional details on the jira.
It makes sense to do this work on a branch - since this feature is going to evolve as it's developed, and there's no point de-stabilizing the master branch with potentially temporary commits. It does depend on additional features which are marked as related items, which I think can be done on master itself. If there's no objections, I'll go ahead and create a branch. Thanks - Sid
