Hello Xiang,

Currently, the 0.7.x line can be the considered the stable release one that one
should deploy in production. There is a 0.7.1 release which has been long
overdue which we should release soon.
There have been 2 releases of 0.8.x too ( designated alpha though ) in the past
few months. This may take a couple of more iterations before it stabilizes but
yes, this should start seeing some hardening as the Hive project
releases a version with Hive LLAP.

To answer your question, yes, there will likely be more releases from both
0.7.x ( mainly bug fixes ) and 0.8.x ( stabilization for making Tez work with
Hive LLAP ) before the end of the year and also early next year.
The 0.8.x releases have been marked alpha as the integration work with Hive
LLAP will cause some flux with the APIs. Once this is done, we should have an
initial release which will get hardened as more folks
try out the release.

If there anything particular you are looking forward to from master for your
use-cases or are you figure out which release to deploy with?

thanks
