Hi Elias,
This is kind of weird, the type byte is normally unsigned and I think the C++
compiler uses a uint8_t for it.
Unfortunately it doesn't get properly tested on ./test/cpp/src/TestClient.cpp,
so we can't be sure it works on every platform either.
Although, I guess it won't help much, you should be actually testing with 0-255.
