Avi, we've had several patches for 2.x and 3 support and have opted to stay
with the current python version due to it being the most widely used across all
operating systems. We want to try and support as much as we can without having
to have forks of each client for major version changes as seen within python.
That said, I look forward to reviewing your patches and discussing what we can
do to make the client library better and more robust for pythons multiple
versions. thank you for contributing
