If it was a binary field, then THRIFT-2175 could possibly fix this. Worth a
try. Could you do that? You don't have to, but some help with this would be
great.
The "real" JSON now works for me with all patches applied. SimpleJSON still
doesn't. I had no time to look at Compact so far.
