For legal / non-technical reasons, the patches need to be attached to the
ticket. Also, those changes do not address adding "-std=c++11" to the build
line. Hans hacked around that by putting it in the environment. That is an
excellent workaround, but it isn't a suitable fix for closing this ticket.
