We've [dicussed the upgrade scenario above|#comment-13636877], and the
recommended solution is still to patch the server side in a way, where there is
a fallback to a given default (which should be the previously existing service)
if there is no delimiter char within the service name. This is already
partially implemented in some parts of the lib, unfortunately not in all of
them.
