I'm guessing this is similar to the Ubuntu 12.04 incompatibility that I 
resolved; autoconf tools may be too old.  We would need to know the OS version 
and autoconf tool versions you were using in order to proceed.  You can 
probably upgrade to the latest autoconf tools to resolve this issue.
