Wouldn't it be easier to have the release package be from github?
ZIP: https://github.com/apache/thrift/archive/0.11.0.zip
TGZ: https://github.com/apache/thrift/archive/0.11.0.tar.gz
GitHub does this automatically based on tags.
Why not just use that instead as the official download?
