The current ocaml opam module is provided by the community and is very stale:
https://opam.ocaml.org/packages/thrift/
sourced from:
https://github.com/ocaml/opam-repository/tree/master/packages/thrift
The opam file in the Apache Thrift project (lib/ocaml/opam) is stale and should
be updated. See if we can provide a more official package.
