James E. King III created THRIFT-4754:
-----------------------------------------

Summary: Prove the CMake out-of-tree build is really out-of-tree
                 Key: THRIFT-4754
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/THRIFT-4754
             Project: Thrift
          Issue Type: Task
          Components: Build Process
    Affects Versions: 0.13.0
            Reporter: James E. King III
            Assignee: James E. King III

For cmake, a "make clean" is analogous to blowing away your out-of-tree build
directory and re-creating it. Verifying that the out-of-tree cmake build is
really out-of-tree by having a CMake build job that sets the thrift source
directory to read-only in the docker container would be an excellent proof
point. Given that cmake is calling other build systems, if they are not
configured correctly then we don't actually have an out-of-tree build.
