While we're at it: I have some code ready that implements a Redis transport layer for netstd (it uses streams and pub/sub), but - honestly - I don't want to put it under contrib, so I didn't open a PR so far.
Contrib is a dark shabby cellar that nobody really looks into or maintains. IMHO we need a better concept to deal with such contribs that do not really belong into the core library but would make a great addition otherwise. Have fun, JensG
