I'm not sure if it's ok to change the versioning scheme for the whole project
for the sake of one language but I'm not really opposed to it either.
The trouble is, we allow breaking changes for every tagged release, so
basically all releases would come with a new major version, even if there are
no breaking changes for Go.
In any case, this should probably be settled when we decide to do another
release, whenever that might be.
