It would be great if we could include a Jira issue reference in the comment associated with each non-trivial commit. I've been using the following comment template: <template> TIKA-123: Issue summary Explanation of the committed change (optional if already covered by the issue summary) </template> A nice benefit to including Jira keys in commit messages is that you can then use the "Subversion commits" panel in Jira (see for example [1]) to review all the committed changes related to an issue.
