Mime magic detection should be quite quick, once someone tracks down some
documentation on the file header, or failing that stares at hex dumps of lots
of files to crack it
As for metadata, support will be added a few days after someone submits a patch
for it ;-)

to start for photoshop
Alternately there is a LGPL java library for PSD files (which can't be included
in Tika for license reasons), which could be used as a third party plugin
