Aakarsh Medleri Hire Math commented on TIKA-1532:
-------------------------------------------------
Hi Nick,
The MIME type is text/plain and usually represents data in row and column
format (like a spread sheet and can be viewed using Microsoft Excel
application). This .dif format is different from .dif format with MIME Type
video/x-dv.
Background: During the analysis of National Science Foundation polar science
data it has been identified that many data-sets are in .dif format. It seems so
that the metadata is in the format represented in the link below:
http://gcmd.nasa.gov/add/difguide/WRITEADIF.pdf
I am yet to acquire crawled data and confirm the metadata mentioned above.
I am working on this parser as DR project under professor Christian Mattmann.
Note: Not sure if I have upload rights and nor am I able to assign this issue
to myself. Can you please help?
Thanks,
Aakarsh
