You're right that the other features should be tested in POI... and honestly, a
lot of the metadata things it doesn't quite support right now (comments,
titles, footers -- not even sure if Visio supports those?, etc). It really just
supports the use cases that we needed it for, but should be simple enough to
add support for other use cases as people run into them, as it follows the
patterns of the other OOXML formats.
I personally won't have a lot of time to contribute to these efforts until
~May.
