It's done, it works locally with the 0.17-SNAPSHOT version of today. I've added
"-Ppedantic" on the ci for one of the builds each and these work too.
It's possible that much of what I did yesterday wasn't needed at all, but now
we have something that works in both versions and we can improve from there if
we want.
