Apache Tika will be participating in the hackathon at Community over Code Glasgow (October 11-14, 2026). We'll have a curated list of tasks at various difficulty levels - from documentation fixes to feature work - and mentors on hand to help you get started. This is a great opportunity whether you're a long-time user looking to give back, or someone who's always been curious about contributing to open source. I'll be personally focused on improving integrations with inference providers for multimedia processing.
