Still confused.  Maybe it's because I haven't spent as long in the Tiles
code as some of you guys.  How is <tiles:insertAttribute> defining an
attribute. While I was writing this, David asked the same question! Let's
make sure we're all using the same definition
of "definition." (I'm starting to feel like Bill Clinton! "It depends on
what your definition of 'is' is")

It's plain semantics (this way David's question is answered), sorry if it has not been clear before. Right now I think that you are right, all the tags have a name that show what they do, why the one that inserts an attribute should not be this way? There is still a question to solve: how to inform the user of a possible wrong use of <tiles:insertAttribute>? Probably a better exception message will solve it, that suggests to remove the tag or to fill the attribute, in other words, informs the user that he must use a page as a template if it has <tiles:insertAttribute> tags.
