I suspect it can be done. I'm not sure if the ASF Jira instance has it available or not. I used to be a Jira admin, but I'm not sure if I still am. It looks like there are some ramifications to this, especially regarding how notification emails are sent out. I think they would need to continue to be sent as plain text, which would not be very readable if comments contain wiki markup. I'll be offline for a couple of days. If there's a strong desire to implement this let me know and I'll try to get my Jira account back up and running. Greg
