Finally found the time to test it. Epic! It almost cuts the build time in
half on my machine.
VOTE: +1
Nevertheless we should keep looking into Stephen's `mkdirs` issue before we
merge, as I'm sure that this will no longer happen when Spark uses the
`tinkermem` directory.
