Circumstances allowed me to revisit this long standing issue. Initial results
with kerberos authentication in gremlin-python can be previewed at
[https://github.com/vtslab/incubator-tinkerpop/commits/TINKERPOP-1641|[https://github.com/vtslab/incubator-tinkerpop/commits/TINKERPOP-1641].]
So, I left kerberos hell behind, but work is still to be done to make this
into a complete PR.
