after finishing up that little merge and added bits for GraphSON I sorta realized that gremlin-io-test is bloating up the repo and i'm not sure it's adding much to what we want to test. i don't think it has caught any problems with serialization breaks because serialization probably hasn't changed in any appreciable way in years. i'd like to recommend we delete it, move the latest copy of the test files to gremlin-util where the serializers are and run the tests for each of them for that version only. dropping it would save some extra work opening branches after release as an extra benefit. i'd say we drop it for 3.7.0 and call it a day.
